A fan captured the heartfelt moment shared between the two as they embraced for a few moments on the turf. Cameras instantly circled the two to get a closer shot of the same as they exchanged a few last words as manager and captain.

Klopp appointed Van Dijk as captain in June 2023 following the departure of Jordan Henderson.

Jurgen Klopp has truly defined an era at Liverpool Football Club. The German manager leaves the club with his head held high after adding a Premier League title, a UCL and several other accolades to the club’s trophy cabinet. As the manager completed his final game in charge of the club, Trent Alexander-Arnold posted a video in honor of his ‘favorite’ manager.

The video shows Trent’s most beautiful moments under Klopp, ever since the German gave Trent his professional debut in 2016. The video shows Trent’s debut, to their Champions League and Premier League triumphs and crucial goals scored by him that switches to Klopp’s reaction.

The ending shot of the clip features Klopp engaged in conversation with Trent tagged with a backdrop of players in training and the crowd chanting excitedly. In the voiceover of the clip, Trent says that he has always tried to ‘repay’ Klopp for the trust, faith and opportunities given by the gaffer.

As Klopp leaves Liverpool, the club’s legacy rests firmly on the new generation and academy graduates, of which Trent is the undisputed leader. The right-back is currently the vice captain of the club.
