Watch: Klopp given round of applause at farewell press conference after one last joke for reporters
News Images

Jurgen Klopp has delivered some memorable press conferences during his reign as Liverpool manager, and his very last one certainly had its moments!

A compilation shared by Match of the Day on X showed the German turning the tables on the assembled journalists by taking a photo of them with his on his smartphone and joking ‘I don’t think I will, but if I miss you, I’ll just look at the pictures’.

The 56-year-old has also vowed to return to Anfield in the guise of a Reds supporter and asked when the next Premier League season will commence – with the ensuing reply of 17 August from one reporter – before quipping that he ‘doesn’t have time then’, bursting into laughter along with the assembled press pack.

At the end of his final press conference as Liverpool manager, Klopp was then given a much-deserved round of applause from the journalists present, who’ve been provided with countless headline-grabbing soundbytes from the Stuttgart native.

That reaction as he signed off shows the respect that he’s commanded not just from everyone associated with the Reds, but also the media in this country. They’re going to miss him too!
